Procurement Parts Engineer
Location: COM DEV Europe, Aylesbury, U.K.
Job Description:
Key tasks / Knowledge / Experience / Skills / other specific qualities:
- Procurement of Flight & Non Flight EEE parts
- Generating procurement specifications for EEE parts
- Procurement and expediting of all parts and services required by project
- Sending RFQ’s to suppliers
- Negotiation with suppliers to achieve acceptable prices and lead times
- Sourcing suitable suppliers from approved supplier list
- Recommending new suppliers and holding SAT meetings if required
- Ensuring all EEE parts conform to customer requirements
- Raising of PADs (Parts Approval Document)
- Liaison with Principal / Design Engineers over problem parts
- Interfacing with suppliers and CPPA
- Managing subcontract assembly operations
- Keeping Parts requirement spreadsheets up to date, with input from Engineering
- Producing preliminary parts lists for PCB layout purposes
- Supplying part numbers to DO for PCB assembly parts lists
- Producing parts costs estimates for proposals
- Generate and conduct Presentations for customer meetings
- Identify Qualification & LVT requirements for new components, packages and hybrids to meet customer and/or ESA or MIL specifications
- Reviewing DPA reports and Lot data packs to verify specification requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- HNC/HND Electronics
- Relevant experience in procurement of EEE Parts preferably in the Defence/ Aerospace industry
Desirable Qualifications:
- CIPS Qualified
- MS Excel & Word intermediate / Advanced user
- Ability to read circuit diagrams & Engineering Drawings
